USB memory stick - Image 1Homebrew developer svpe has been doing a lot of impressive things on the Nintendo Wii lately. Aside from delivering the first SD ELF loader to the Wii homebrew community, a new program is currently in the works which aims to test the console's USB interface with other devices.

The source code for USB Mass Storage Device Demo was recently posted on the #wiidev channel and shows the technical details on how to access the Wii's USB port with many USB Mass Storage Devices. This includes USB memory sticks, flash drives, certain cel phones and MP3 Players, some FAT-formatted USB Hard Drives and even single-slot card readers.

At the moment only basic error handling has been included as one of its safety features. However, we can expect more updates to arrive in the near future. The more tech savvy readers can take a look at the actual code found in the source link we've provided below. In any case, we'll be sure to report any future updates to this app as soon as we get them.
