Wiibrew - Image 1MenuPatcher v1.1 from Waninkoko patches the System Menu in memory to run it under Custom IOS and allow backup loading through disc channel. That's basically what this Wii brew app does.

If you are to use this, make sure that you be cautious in installing this cos Waninkoko will not be held responsible for any damage on your Wii (knock on wood) for improper use of this software.

He also extends his thanks to the following:

Does this stay even after you turn off the wii?

No matter how long it is turned off it will still be there and i can change discs as if it had a modchip?

I already had the Riskii Mod(later named Softmii, cause it wasnt so risky), but it stays on the entire time. But as for having the same compatibility as Gamma, technically it does...it just has a minor variation. If you have any games that you patched, back when the first backup launcher came out, this can't run them. And that's a big issue for me cause 50 of my 250 Wii games were patched, so I'm kinda forced to stick with Gamma. Maybe one day Waninkoko will just enable it to read my older patched games :) But yeah, it has flawless compatibility though if the games are just 1:1 backups (iso and then burned).
