Homebrew - Custom IOS36 rev 05 - Image 1Waninkoko has released the latest Custom IOS36 Wii custom firmware, bumping it up to rev 7. Most of the changes involve improvements to the DIP plugin, though he didn't go into specifics. Here's the version history changelog since rev 5:

[ CIOS36 rev 07 ]:

  • DIP plugin updated (lots of improvements).
[ CIOS36 rev 06 ]:
  • Custom DIP module removed.
  • DIP module patched (DIP plugin) to support backups.

Meanwhile, waninkoko's also rolled out MenuPatcher v1.0, which goes hand in hand with cIOS36 rev 7 (it's actually required that you have rev 7 installed, before you can run MenuPatcher properly). What it does is to patch over the system menu in memory to make it run with cIOS36. Make sure you go thorugh the readme files included in the download archives.

» readme is out dated.

.dol is an execution file for the Wii.

If you can not figure this out Slack, quit trying right now. It's basic.

Anyone else getting an error trying to install this?

I try to install the ios36v7 via wad manager and it gives me an error. Other WADs work fine its just these 2 give me errors.

I had ios36v5 installed so I uninstalled it and still no luck, so I reinstalled it and still it gives me an error.

» the wait for a fix

i patched to 3.3 after installing the hbc and i figured everything else would work fine, but this and dvdx either return errors or never work. just gonna wait it out till 3.3 is worked around.

the devs in the hb community are doing an awesome job!

i doubt it'll take long but just in case i'm looking into savemiifrii and format system memory as possible rollbacks.. hopefully one of them will kill 3.3 and allow me to backup and restore my saved info.
