If you've been having trouble with Wii-linux installations, then you might want to try this one out. It's similar to grub or lilo, but the final goal would be to be able to boot Wii-linux from any compatible device, and to boot different Linux kernel versions. It should also let you install Wii-linux easier, following the "Linux live" distributions, where you won't need to create partitions and install filesystems.

Necessary tools:
  • 1GB SDcard (2GB for bliight), or a similar usb hard disk, formatted on Fat32 (NTFS doesn´t works, as writing isn´t supported by the kernel)
  • USB Keyboard
  • A wii console with the Homebrew channel or twilight hack installed
  • USB-HUB (optional) * read known problems
  • USB mouse (optional) * read known problems
  • USB wireless/ethernet adapter (optional) * read known problems
Known Problems
Q) The USB Keyboard does not work.
A) If you have a USB mouse plugged in, interchange the usb port where they are plugged, or unplug the mouse

Q) It says that some files are missing (pivot_root, chroot, old-root)
A) If you are booting a previously installed wiilinux (xwhiite or bliight installed in the second partition of your sdcard) you will have to copy the contents of the "extra" directory to the root of your wiilinux filesystem.
