Proof of the Wii's keyboard support from IGN - Image 1

Keyboard functionality has finally been added to the Nintendo Wii video game console. This confirmation comes after reports of the Wii team considering the addition of a keyboard peripheral surfaced.

Support for USB keyboards was included in the latest firmware for the Wii. According to IGN, Wii owners can use USB keyboards within the Wii Shop Channel to enter game titles in the search box. It can also be used to write memos and mail on the Wii Message Board.

For now, keyboards can't be used in the Internet Channel. This feature is expected to be added within the next few firmware updates.

» real improvements please nintendo

well this is a big tease, we want keyboard functionality for the wii opera 9 web browser.i also think that nintendo should make a firmware update that will automaticly coralate the unused portion of a plugged sd card and apply the extra memory the the internal flash memory to allow longer and better flash streaming so that the flash does not exeade the memory.

» for me

make the sd card work just like a gc mem card so it can expand the internal mem for more virtual games. also hi res to get better quality display. i also found out that you can hold down del and it erases fast instead of pressing it for every letter. was that always the case or an update feature?
