Wii games to retail starting at US$ 29.99

Rampage

If Rampage: Total Destruction's price on Amazon is an indication of retail price of Wii games, then we could probably grab some launch titles for as low as US$ 29.99. As a comparison, Rampage: Total Destruction for current-gen consoles is being sold for US$ 19.99.

The low retail price for Wii games isn't really surprising considering that the Wii itself is the least expensive next-gen console. Also, Nintendo has promised cheaper games and they're making good with that promise.

Of course, we don't suppose we can get popular games like The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess or Red Steel for a mere US$ 29.99, but we do know that they'd be much lower than US$ 60. Games for next-gen consoles currently retail between $49.99 and US$ 59.99.

yep

i thought $50 was standard price, instead of $60 for ps3. this is fair considering the technology behind the wii is o0bsolete and nintendo are making a profit on the console, unlike xbox and ps3. i wouldnt want to pay any more

OK!

Ok, Nintendo - you wanted it so... As games are being sold for 59€ in Germany na dfor 29$ in the USA (about 25€) I'm really going to crack my console... I didn't want to go into piracy. Maybe I will now... This could have been something I expected from Sony, but not from Nintendo. Ok: Big FU*K YOU to Nintendo for fu*king their customers like Sony.

if you don't like the price, don't buy

Notice the US$30 price tag is for a relatively lame arcarde game. Did you read the full article stating better games (e.g. Zelda, Red Steel) will still probably cost US$50. As far as 59Euros I'll admit, that's a bit steep - roughly US$75. Remember though, your price includes VAT and the US price does not, however, US sales taxes aren't 50%. I can't say how much of your price is VAT and import taxes, but you can blame your government for all of it.

Ehhh

This Christmas and next year is for the hardcore gamer that will shell out more cash than the non gamer. Nintendo is still a business and wants to make money. I highly doubt they will start selling games super cheap this early. Maybe in 2007 or 2008.
