Wii Games To Cost $49.99? |
Ó
The introduction of higher-priced games with the Xbox 360 is already causing trouble in certain situations, so for many Nintendo fans, it should come as a relief that Wii games most probably will be kept in the current-gen price range. According to comments from Electronic Arts executives, first-party Wii games like Super Mario Galaxy will cost no more than $49.99. Confirmation of this has yet to be received from Nintendo, but it's likely, with a Nintendo UK spokesperson reminding us that the company had already hinted at a price similar to current-gen ones at E3.
EA also took the opportunity to show their continued support for Nintendo's console, remarking that Madden 2007 and Need for Speed: Carbon are on track for the launch title positions, with more Wii games in the pipeline.

Nintendo already stated that their games will not be priced like the next-gen titles and will retail for 49.99 max I believe. Nintendo already said they will not venture out of the 50$ max price and are allowing the developers to choose their price as usual, some may be more exepensive, some may be cheaper
At least now i will have some money as opposed to when i buy a 360 game.
Here's Mr. Iwata himself - (talking about pricing)
"cannot imagine any first party [next-gen] title could be priced for more than $50."
And some games will be less
if am paying for a gamecube game with about 5% graphic increase, they better leave it at $49.99
360 first party games and ones published my MS are still $50, it is only lousy 3rd party devs/publishers charging more wich MS has no control over.
wii games are just a 30% increase in graphics and some new controller configurations
i would hope that wii games would be 40-50
im not a nintendo fan but if its that much...WHY NOT...i got a 360 and am getting a ps3
All of the reservable games in EB's POS are priced at $49.99 (Red Steel, Elebits, Madden, DBZ, among others) with the only exception being Call of Duty 3, which has a $59.99 price tag.
