Wii Freeloader to be released on June 30 |

Wii fans hoping to play import games, you have a reason to rejoice: Italian online store You Too has Datel's Wii Freeloaders in stock, purportedly for a June 30 release date. Datel's Freeloader lets consoles ignore region locks, which essentially lets you play any game regardless of its region.
Wii being region-locked has always been a source of disappointment for many a Wii fan who prefers quirky games in his library - many Japanese games are known to be too strange to be published locally in North America.

I have an older version of Freeloader that only works on the GC. The only reason I havn't bought an updated version that works on the Wii is this: Can't Nintendo just send an update and kill the ability to use Freeloader? I'm kinda concerned about putting out $20+ for Freeloader then the $30-$50 for an import game, just to have Nintendo kill it within a few months, and then be forced to buy an updated Freeloader, only to wait for Nintendo to kill it... etc...
Not that Im doubting the release of this thing, but that image is a TERRIBLY Photoshopped image... Jagged lines in the circle, the text is completely out of perspective...
Hmmmmm, still hope it's true. You think this thing might allow circumventing copyright protecion...?
This product is already out, it allows you to play other region games for the GAMECUBE on your WII. Read the box, it's written on it. You can buy this at play-asia already.

On the website it says that it is in PAL format... i guess we (USA) cant use this product yet huh....

Um, everyone, calm down and listen to Hellfenix. It's just a rebranded version of the old Freeloader. It doesn't work with Wii games.
At first, I thought this was "THE" Freloader for the Wii, however after looking at the package shot on the youtoo site, im more inclined to think this is simply a re-branded Gamecube Freeloader.
"Both action replay for gamecube and freeloader work on a Wii in gamecube mode"
Appears to be a bad translation but appears to read to me like:
"Both the Action Replay and Freeloader Work on a Wii in gamecube mode"
It took them a while to release the Gamecube freeloader so would be surprised if this one was released so soon after the Wii's launch.
I hope im wrong though.
I'm guessing this is a hoax, because its says its coming on the 30th of June they say you can buy it at play-asia, but it appears thats nothing but a load of BS!!!!!!
lets wait 15 more days to see if the wii freeloader is even true

You Too has confirmed that the Freeloader has been postponed and that it is near completion. They've also been kind enough to translate the product description into English, which says that "it hasn't been confirmed if this will work with Game Cube games." So their translation and the fact that the Freeloader's release is being postponed leads me to believe that this will actually be a Freeloader for Wii games. Here's a link:

I'm willing to bet that this will be the Freeloader that will allow us to play Japanese Wii games. But as stated in my last post, its release has been postponed. It being postponed may actually be a good thing because that may confirm that this is a new product and not just another repackaging. I'll continue to follow this and I'll keep you posted.

Datel is making a version that works for WII games, and it's supposed to come out soon. I don't know if it comes out june 30th, but if it doesn't, it should come out soon anyways.
actually, if you have a modchip that region unlocks, you don't need a freeloader..

I'm really hoping that the Freeloader will come out before August like they've said. I've had Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX since the release and it's just been sitting on top of my TV. Will the Wii Freeloader come out on the 30th of June because I also bought the Naruto game for the Wii and its been laying in my closet for weeks. And I hope that YouToo is right.

You're just going to have to wait for the Freeloader. None of the mod-chips can play ANY of the Gekitou Ninja Taisen games. It's strange, but this series seems to be unplayable with the mod-chips that are currently available. Just have patience. Like I said before, I've had the game sitting on top of my TV since the release and I'm VERY eager to play it too.
that really is odd that modchips don't play the Naruto games... do Action Replays play imported games... Because I heard theres one coming at the end of July.
Action Replay and the Freeloader are both made by the same company. In the past the Action Replay has come with the Freeloader function, but you can also buy the Freeloader separately if that's all you want. So if the Action Replay is going to have the Freeloader ability this time around, then they may be waiting to release the Freeloader for when the Action Replay is released.
I've been waiting for a freeloader for the wii so I can get Bleach for the wii. I'm a fan of Naruto too but I think they released a Shippuden game a little to early.
