Wii Controller Update |
Ó

The memory is the most interesting thing to come from this. It looks like it'll only be 4KB of storage, which is just about nothing. It can also only save data for one game at a time. Of course, this probably means that the data is saved onto the Wii's onboard memory or an SD card and then transferred to your Wiimote when you boot up a game. This means that the data in the Wiimote is only temporarily stored there. Nintendo also warns that removing or attaching any Wiimote extension (for example, the nunchuck) while data is being transferred could permanently damage the Wiimote. Once you get your Wiimotes this fall, remember to be careful!

DON't BreAK youR Wii! lol
Since the Wii carries some very non-conventional hardware, I wonder what else we should watch for.
well kind of makes sence the whole don't remove stuff while saving. I mean these have been the rules since saveing was around
only 4kb sounds way too low for a save even for the smallest of games. i doubt that onboard memory is for gamesaves, its most likely used for configurations in certain games and mapping.
Why would you need a lot of storage in a controller? 4kb is fine, it doesn't worry me at all. What worries me is if I'm saving something and one of my baby cousins is over and pulls an attachment out and ruins the controller.
i feel there will be plenty of bricked controllers in the future
Why would it damage your controller? They should have a way to prevent damage. Why would one part of the controller damage the other if you don't send data to it during the save process. The data should just be corrupt and you can write over or erase it. It just sounds dumb to me knowing they are a big name company that should be experts in design. I guess another way to make them a buck or two.
