Webcomic encapsulates consoles' launch

Comic relief

This is a pretty funny, but kinda realistic take on the recent weekend launches of the last two much-awaited next-gen consoles. A lot has been written about it, and only rightfully so. After all, it's not everyday that we'd have this much activity from two of the biggest gaming companies all in a matter of but a couple of days.

Some might say that it's unfair to tag the PS3 launch as the more violent one. I mean, yeah, so there may have been shootouts, a few robbing incidents here and there, some riots, and even crazy games all for a PS3 unit. But hey, if you've been waiting for so long, and almost every other launch date keeps getting delayed, obviously you'd be just as agitated, too.

As for the Wii launch, well, everything's been just rosy with a whole bunch of happy people cheering good ol' Reggie on. Then again, that's how they intended to market the console in the first place: wholesome family fun. So I guess it's but fitting that the launch turned out that way.

Anyway, this is just for laughs. So no need to get pissed or whatever. We certainly hope you're all enjoying your favored consoles.

It's not true for everybody. There were some really friendly people in the PS3 line. But yeah, it's an OK generalization - the bad seeds can be really bad and nasty. LOL @ "Do you want a hug" - so typically Wii.

How I see it is, Sony is completely unprepared to launch and had a very limited amount of PS3 systems to ship out, and people went mad just to get there hands on that ‘little’ amount of PS3s.

Nintendo on the other hand couldn’t have been much more prepared, in my area there was 25 Wiis to every 10 PS3 at the store, and most camping out for the Wii got one, so they had no reason to get violent, especially if the next Wii shipment isn’t that far away!

But; from observation, I do find much Ninetndo fans to be much more easy going and genial, there not people that are going to attack others like themselves, but probably be proud of them for wanting a Wii.

At my walmart I was in line for the PS3 and got one but our line was much more polite and well mannered than the Wii line two days later. Walmart complained how rude the Wii fans were. My guess is because the PS3 line was made up of 20-30 year old males and the Wii line was made up of 15-20 year old males and females with too much damn energy.
