Operation Wolf rated by ESRB - Image 1

Here's some good news for all you arcade-loving virtual console fans. One of the most fondly remembered shooters on the arcade scene is coming back via the virtual console, as the game has been rerated by the ESRB.

As the title's probably told you, Taito's Operation Wolf looks to be coming back. It's been rated E10+ for the Wii by the ESRB, and we should know more about the fate of this game in the coming weeks.

For those who don't remember this game, here's a brief backgrounder. You're tasked with rescuing five hostages in a concentration camp, which is spread across six stages. Originally, you used a gun controller attached to the cabinet to take down baddies and shoot enemies down, but we're pretty sure we're going to have some watered-down controls (or possibly some Wiimote action, if we're lucky).

In any event, expect to hear more on this nostalgic gun-toting title as we get updates.

# Zapper Action?AndyD421 2008-01-08 10:27
When, this game was originally ported to NES, it used the Zapper, so I do not see why It couldn't use the Wii Zapper now.
