Virgin Radio - Image 1SPOnG reports that Virgin Radio is coming to the Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii, making it the first national UK radio station to be available via the two next gen video games consoles.

"PlayStation 3 or Wii will become the entertainment hub in your front room," James Cridland, the digital media director at Virgin Radio, informed SPOnG. "We have worked hard to make the station available on as many different platforms as possible... We're looking into providing the station via the Xbox 360 as well, but for now it's only available via the PS3 and Wii browsers."

Along with Virgin radio itself, three of its sister stations - Xtreme, Classic Rock, and Groove - will also be available. The PS3 and Wii compatibility with Virgin stems from the fact that its online player is the only national UK radio station which offers mp3 streaming.

Other major and independent digital radio stations may also be making the move, so keep checking back here for updates.

» added benefits?

Do they provide attached metadata along the "Now Playing" songs (artist, band, etc... information) that can be seen in Wii/PS3 screen. Its boring just to have audio only without anything added value.
