Video: PS3, Xbox 360, Wii get bricked - literally - for durability test

This is probably not the best way to test how strong this gen's consoles are, and it's also most probably not the best method to confront your anger management issues. But what the hey, the Human Wrecking Balls, the Pumphrey brothers, bricked the Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 - literally - to check out which one will remain standing.

As you will see in the vid below, the test, conducted with Blair Herter, required cement bricks. Lots of them. Underneath the bricks are the hapless consoles, after which, a series of karate chops commence to see if it will be sturdy enough to still run despite the brutal beatings.

What do you know, the Wii ran perfectly well, and the PS3, too. As for the Xbox 360, it was knocked out on the very first round. As to who reigned supreme between the PS3 and the Wii, well, you'll just have to catch it again on the Human Wrecking Balls show on G4TV. Hopefully they'll show a rerun of it due to insistent popular demand. The episode was aired just about a couple of hours ago, Eastern Time.

But that's okay if you missed it, you can check out the vid below anyway to get in on the action, or you can conduct your own durability test for all three. It's one huge cringe-moment, though.

» nice

Quite the entertaining video lol.

Round 2 was a little unfair to the ps3. It had to absorb the full blow as nothing was under it while a whole set of concrete blocks were under the Wii to absorb the blow. But it made it anyway.

I was surprised xbox didn't make it past round 1. I guess all those rrod horrors really are true.

» I was expecting the wii to break first...

That thing is tiny as hell and has almost no shell while the xbox 360 is much bigger and defintly the ps3 is much bigger. But figures the 360 would break first as it breaks for many people without even trying to break it.

lol im so not surprised the 360 died first. If u have opened one ud see there isnt anything realy to it, the ps3 and wii are jampacked with components which i would guess would soften the blow to the more vital parts.

R.I.P. all three consoles... -.- *teardrop*

» ps3

def came out on top. In round 2 the ps3 took a beating and fell like 4 feet. Concrete blocks absorbed it for the wii tho...

And round 3 look at that guy, he throws the wii ONCE, while the ps3 guy just obliterates it...

» I'm just wondering...

Was the 360 broke before it got smashed into pieces? I'm sure it probably had RRoD before they even started.

» I didn't thought the consoles were so hard!!

Especially for the ps3, I was sure it would be destroyed 1st. The touch pad could read the fingers even if it was almost totally destroyed after part 2, I'm impressed. The wii didn't absorb enough damage, they were soft on it... But anyway the wii is nintendo stuff, and you can always throw nintendo consoles in the stairs without any fears, lol. For the X360, it's sad, I would have liked to see it in round 2, but I guess it's why nobody likes it. I hope x720 will be stronger... I have a ps3, but I won't beat it like that just for fun... what kind of people have fun doing this anyway? Poor poor consoles, they're like babies to me, lol.

» no the

power button fell off, and it wouldn't even like boot in any way even when they put the power plug in

» wow!!

where are all these 360 fanboys at???i dont see any of them complaining lmao.in your face

» Not sure about that last bit

I'd be tempted to believe it's just the size and weight of the PS3 that made him say that. The Wii looked a bit more likely to work. To me at least.

But either way, I'm impressed. I didn't expect either of them to do that well. The Wii especially. It seems so fragile compared to its predecessors. I'd have loved to have seen how the GC or N64 held up in this. The N64 wouldn't surprise me if it turned on right at the end.

» I would've

at least tried to turn the 360 on with a remote and not just the power button.
