If you thought Wii Sports Boxing was fun, Hajime no Ippo: Revolution! would blow your head off (unless you use something solid like the cross-block). Some low-budget games were released off the anime/manga series, but this one looks like a huge step up the ranks.It wouldn't be surprising if the whole family started picking up their gloves Wiimotes and Nunchucks with Ippo's reiteration to the Wii. On the video we found, a kid is happily playing as his favorite boxers before his dad jumped in. At first, he gave tips to his son and even got worked up just by watching. We all know though, including his wife and daughter, that he wants a piece of the action.
Soon, the kid at heart tried his hand out at the game. Before he knew it, he was so absorbed that he was even fantasizing about being Ippo. "I wonder how it feels to be a champion," he said, before going into a Dempsey Roll rage.
The video also shows that there is a 2-player mode, something that we all want. Just make sure you're hitting the character on the screen, not the other player.
After working out a sweat (or if you're just lazy), you can change the controls to different modes. Either you want to just aim the Wiimote at the screen to execute attacks, or use the buttons like the classic Hajime no Ippo games, it's up to you.
Many of the characters will be included in the game, along with their unique fighting styles. You'll have to burn some time though, it won't be out 'til June 21 in Japan for ¥ 6,090 (US$ 50.03). We can only hope that it doesn't take ages before they ship the game outside Ippo's home.
