This is what it is, and if we give you guys anymore "fluff" on this you'd probably complain that we're stretching. So here's the meat of it: a nice video embed showing off what GameBrink claims to be the Japanese beta of Wii Opera.

And just in case you're wondering why this is newsworthy, here's a nice link that will help you out a bit. Click play and enjoy folks!

Internet channel...

Is out in Australia, at least. I blogged on MyQJ but it hasn't gone through yet... There's some rendering problems, to say the least.

Its Cool

I downloaded it this morning before coming to work. I live in Central America, Costa Rica. The Browser is very cool, i love it. The first thing I tried was youtube and it looks great, no lags, sound is nice. I strongly recommend you go to wiicade.com they have cool flash games designed for wii

free

This browser should be free. It is the least nintendo could do is make the browser free
by aleortiz - 2006-12-22 08:03:01
free

Ehem... This browser IS free. And when they release the full version in march it will still be FREE. They will only start charging after july for users that didn't download it previously, but the users that did will still have it for Free. Anyways they say they are going to charge 500 Wii points which is just 5 bucks.

Opera Messed up My Wii/Remote connection

I might be the only one, but since the browser has released I can't get through to Tech because of an influx of calls to the big N - the problem I'm having is that when I launched the Opera Browser it disconnected my WiiMote that I was operating the system with. I cold booted the Wii and tried to resink the controller, but it would have none of that. So I tried the controller the system came with, it nolonger connects either. The only thing that happens when I try to resink is the first three LEDs turn on and the fourth very slowly turns on and off. Then they all turn off and I can't control my System. If anyone has a resolution for this it'd be much appreciated, but anyway, after I get off of work here I'll have my work cut out for me trying to get my Wii working again.

Troubleshoot

I might have found a way to fix this - I was informed to pull the batteries from the WiiMotes for about a minute or so, then to hold the sinc button on the console for about 20 seconds. This should reset to default sinc settings. Then just attempt Syncronizing the Wii and Remotes by first tapping the Mote sinc button and then the console button... however I'll have to wait till I get home from the office to check this out. Man this sucks...

RE: opera...

This happened to me, but when exiting to the wii menu from the forecast channel. Resyncing didn't work for me either, the only thing that did was pulling the plug out of the socket. :D Try that perhaps if you constantly leave your system on.

Youtube

Youtube worked this morning fine, but it seems they are now restricting the Wii Browser. Its now telling me I don't have the right version of flash to watch videos. Anyone else seeing this??

free

I agree with Nuno. This browser should be free. Yeah the demo is free no updates. I mean sony is loosing money on every console and its browser is and will remain free. 5 bucks or not. NINTENDO MAKE THE BROWSER FREE!!! Your making enough.

Rendering problems...

as in big black things that shouldn't be, incorrect colouring, etc. Zooming in does nothing but allow you to see the text clearly.

It's free...

And the full version will be free. The full version arrives in march, and is free until july. People who download it before july will have it free for life. Only people who don't have it before july will have to pay 500 wii points for it.
