Ocarina of Time - Image 1The good news: We picked up on the prices for some seriously hot Virtual Console titles Japan will be enjoying this February. Also included in price list is Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time.

The bad news: Business-savvy Nintendo apparently knows this title is only the most sought-after of the N64 ports, and has increased its price to 1200 Wii points. A bit steep, but we're sure it won't stop the determined Zelda fans. For the guys who don't mind waiting for this to hit stateside, you may want to start saving up.

NES
  • Galaga (500)
  • Hoshi no Kirby (Kirby's Adventures) (500)
  • Mighty Bomb Jack (500)
Super NES

  • Kamaitachi no Yoru (800)
  • Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire (800)
  • Shin Megami Tensei (900)

  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1200)

# Ridiculous...Guest 2007-01-28 10:07
I already own the game on both the Wind Waker bonus disc and the Collector's disc, so I won't be buying, but I feel bad for those that do.

Nintendo's prices are already ridiculous, especially because there are no carts to manufacture and they're already making profit off every Wii sold. If they really wanted to make more profit, I hope they realize that they're more likely to sell more Virtual Console games at lower prices then at higher prices.

Why $2.00 extra? They're gouging fans. Please don't buy the game! If you do, they're only going to realize they can jack up prices for future releases!

putting the price up is a bit harsh, I'm sure you can buy OOT on an n64 cart for cheaper than the VC price stated above.

Anyhows, I already own it on the N64, and the wind waker special edition - surely it should be cheaper since many people have bought it a few times already.

the rom alone is 4x bigger than mario64

could be that we get masterquest too when we download this.

(together 8x the size of the mario64 rom)

Mind you I can still play all of them on my computer. But the Wii is way more convinient.

And I was thinking Sony was going to put the over priced games. Its the oppisite, Nintendo is trying to suck every penny out of their young consumers.

Nintendo is thieving -.-

dont buy this game people, or else they will put the same price on all games if not higher.

I think Nintendo is taking advantage of this.

When I first saw the prices my jaw dropped. But I figured mario 64 was worth it, Ill actually play it.

And if I bought zelda I know Id play it as well. However, you do feel ripped off. You can buy the actual game as a cartridge for cheaper than 12 bucks.

I already had to shell out another 20 bucks for another controller just to play these games. (Ive never owned a gamecube so Ill never buy that ugly controller)

LISTEN HERE EVERYONE

_______________ _______________ ______

From what I have heard, Nintendo acually does monitor their boards. We should go over to their boards, start a topic, and get EVERYONE to comment on how overpriced thier games have become. $10 for a more then 10 year old game? Bull*****

How dare they charge us so much, just to make a quick buck.

I HAVE A QUESTION FOR EVERYONE HERE

IF LOZ:OoT was $5, or 6$, HOW MANY WOULD BUY IT.

IF Nes Games were only 2$ how many would buy MANY games.

if they did change the control system using the wii mote and the nunchuck that's understandable, but a straight port from the N64 with nothing changed then it's pointless downloading it

This is bull*****! I mean £7.50 (about 15 dollers) for a normal VC 64 game is steep. But £10 for the basterd game is *****ing stupid!! Im not paying £10 for a game just because of its popularity! Im goin to download some emulators and roms now!

OoT isn't the only game in Japan that got a price increase. Simcity and Link to the Past were 900 points in Japan. Here they're the same price as all the others. So its going to be 1000 points here.

you guys are fricken morons. Are you really crying over 2 dollars? Why not moan about 10 extra bucks for new games? Yeah remember they were 50. Oh and last I checked Wii games are still 50 and there are part of the "Next Generation"! So if you're yelling about 2 bucks yell some more for the 10 extra you pee away with every 360 and ps3 game purchased.
