Mega Man 2 Wii Virtual Console - Image 1Old school gamers based in Europe and Australia will be happy to know that a pair of good platformers will be heading their way this week through the Nintendo Virtual Console.

The two games we're referring to are none other than Mega Man 2 from the Nintendo Entertainment System and Top Hunter: Roddy & Cathy that was released first on NeoGeo CD.

Mega Man 2 is a classic in its own right, and considered by many as one of the greatest games of all time. This game introduced the E-Tank to the game not to mention the password system.

Interestingly enough, this iteration of Mega Man also removed some of the other features in the original Mega Man such as scoring and the ability to replay completed levels.

The lucky few who owned a NeoGeo CD will probably remember Top Hunter: Roddy & Cathy quite fondly. The game places players in the shoes of either Roddy or Cathy as they travel through different levels to defeat various enemies.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of this side-scroller is the fact that players can shift between two horizontal planes by pressing a button. Both games should eat up a good chunk of the gamers who decide to download them since they were pretty difficult back in the day.

Be sure to keep checking back here for more news on Virtual Console releases.
