StarTropics Wii Virtual Console - Image 1Old school gamers based in Australia, rejoice! StarTropics has now been officially rated by the Office of Film and Literature Classification. This pretty much means that the game should be hitting the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console very soon.

For those unfamiliar with this classic, it was originally released on the NES and drew quite a following from the gaming community.

The game revolves around Seattle baseball pitcher Mike Jones, who goes on vacation and visits his uncle Dr. J on C-Island. He and soon discovers that his uncle is missing and goes on a quest to save him.

Considering that Australia and Europe both get games for the virtual console at the same time, could this mean that Europe based gamers will also be getting this classic soon? We'll have to wait and see. Till then, Wii owners based in Australia have something to look forward to.
