First off, we have to thank Nightfall regarding this news, which is an update for emu_kidid's Visual Boy Advance emulator for the Wii and GameCube systems.The developer has released a new build of VBA version 1.7.2, which included an improved controller support, as well as the addition of an in-game menu. As for the rest of the changelog details (quoting the readme):
- Wii Port
- Wiimote / Classic Controller / Gamecube Pad support
- Front-SD ROM Loading
- Front-SD SRAM Saving and Loading
- MEM2 ROM Storage for fast access
- In-game Menu with ability to exit to loader (Home button)
- Auto frame skip for those core heavy games
- GC Port
- SDGecko ROM Loading
- SDGecko SRAM Saving and Loading
- In-game Menu with ability to exit to loader (X+Y)
- Auto frame skip to give you the illusion of full FPS
Full details regarding this application are available in the file bundle's readme. The developer has released two builds for this update: A "noframeskip" version which might be a little slow, but won't have any speed fluctuations, and a "frameskip" version which will work accurately.

The developer has released build 30-05-2008, which addresses issues that were reported for the GameCube controllers, and a slowdown that was reported for the GB/GBC emulators on the Wii port.

This is a good GBA emulator, but the GB roms I tried don't run so hot. Anyone else have this problem? What could be the cause?
Actually, yeah. I have that same issue. I tried to run Super Mario Land 2 and Kirby's Dreamland 2 and they run slugishly. Maybe it'll be fixed with some updating.
