So we're going old school in this particular update of ours. It's always nice to reminisce especially when we're talking about video games. Today, we bring you guys the unveiling... we mean, the unboxing of the Nintendo's Super Famicom classic controller for the Wii.

What's really fancy about this controller is that it's oozes with personality. It's old school gaming goodness presented in current technological terms, what with it appearing to be an attachment to the Wimote and all. It also happens to presents a striking difference to the Wiimote, which you guys already have on your Wii. You have red, blue, yellow, and green as opposed to just plain white.

Getting this controller isn't that easy though. The only ones who will be able to get this controller currently are are Club Nintendo members, which essentially limits this to Japan. We suppose you'll just have to satisfy your craving for the controller with the pictures in this article instead.

» Incredible...

What a brilliant piece of nostalgia. I would be ecstatic to get my hands on one of those... it's so perfect.

It even has the SFC logo on it.

I wonder if there's a mod possible with the SNES controller?

Anyone?

» WTF!?!?!?!?!

That is AWESOME! I soooooo want one!

I'm sure they'll find their way to eBay.

Between the wiimote and this we would have everything we need for perfect NES and SNES playback.

» I Wonder

I'm in Club Nintendo, and I woder how people got that. I saw that advertisement long ago. I haven't been buying any Japanese games lately, so I'm in Gold rank now. I used to be Platinum.

» Something else you can find on ebay....

A REAL NES or SNES console.

The original games hold their value unlike downloads which are worthless, the controllers are authentic, and there's no emulation issues.

You can get a used classic console with a couple games for what that controller alone costs. Even isoretard can't argue that's illegal. Plus, you don't need to donate money to Nintendo for doing nothing but running a server.

If you like old school classics, nothing beats the real thing.

» WTF!?!?!?!?!

As usual you are talking out your rear end.

Everything you just said has NOTHING to do with this conversation. Nor does ANY of it apply.

What you FAIL to realize (and you FAIL oh so often!) is that this old "junk" you're wanting me to buy on eBay is just that, OLD JUNK that probably wont last long. It's USED, was probably in a SMOKING house which makes it discussing and ADDS YET ANOTHER DEVICE to my entertainment center. Who told you I have room for another device? More ASSumptions on your part.

So your blatant MY WAY IS THE BEST WAY, is nothing but your usual crap, wasn't very well thought out and as usual contains a bunch holes that were most likely developed from pure ignorance.

Also, you need to be schooled yet again, the patent on the original Nintendo system has expired which means NEW NES consoles can be created and sold. There are VERY FEW emulation issues and there are only those to begin with because regardless of the patent they still can't use the old software. SOOOOO, these new NES units are a much better solution then buying an OLD JUNK NES system that most likely has cartridge reading issues AND some of the new console models have wireless NES controllers. However, with all that said, it's still NO GOOD for me.

I'll stick to my Wii running NES and SNES classics, THANK YOU VERY MUCH and I'll still try to grab one of these controllers.

In the words of Chef Ramsay - PISS OFF YOU DONKEY!!!!

» WTF!?!?!?!?!

One more thing, another lie on your part:

"The original games hold their value unlike downloads which are worthless"

Yes, the downloads are worthless to other people however you can buy NES carts for $1 at ebgames so that would be the OPPOSITE of "holding their value". In due time they'll be 50 cents. Or maybe even the quater I saw them once at a garage sale. Hold their value....my a$$!

I think I'll wait and see what else comes up...

oops, that link will eventual expire. At the time it was posted the controller was $80 (buy now).

That's cool and all, more the reason I wish Club Nintendo would go States side... I don't play VC games though, so it doesn't interest me, and the Classic Controller is about and SNES controller with analog sticks.

I don't like the Classic Controller or this one, since they have to plug into the Wiimote. I'd rather them just link up to the Wii themselves instead of being tethered like the Nunchuk. If I were to play VC games though, I have a wireless PS2 controller hooked up to be read as a GCN controller, which still has the feel of the classic controllers, but is better IMO.

Here are some interesting pics I found:

I've bought almost my whole collection of classic game consoles on ebay. I have bought a Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 32x/CD, Genesis, Sega Master System, Virtual Boy, Game Boy original, Turbografx, Atari 2600, Atari Jaguar, and 3D0! I only had one that did not work properly, but only cost me $15 and it was refunded.

For the ridiculous import price of $80 for a Wiimote attachment, I bought a like new in box SNES for $60 with shipping! With the $20 left, you could get a couple games as well. It doesn't take up entertainment space because I leave them stored until I feel like playing them, then it takes only 2 minutes to hook it up.

"What you FAIL to realize (and you FAIL oh so often!) is that this old "junk" you're wanting me to buy on eBay is just that, OLD JUNK that probably wont last long. It's USED, was probably in a SMOKING house which makes it discussing and ADDS YET ANOTHER DEVICE to my entertainment center."

Everyone who plays games is from a smoking house? I'm sure there is some "junk" being sold on ebay, but that applies to everything on ebay. Everyone knows the pain of blowing into NES games to get them working, but a new 72 pin connector can be bought for $7 and installed easily in 10 minutes. Cartridge based systems last very long because of no moving parts. CD based systems are less reliable, but I've never had any problems with mine.

There's also the bonus of getting the whole old school experience with the same console you remember playing right in front of you. The games do not go down in value, as they already have. Rare games like SNES Super Mario RPG only go up in value, and are quite valuable.

Much much better value than an $80 "classic" imported controller attachment for the $250 Wii, with ROMS costing $5-$10ea on top of that.

There you have it everyone!!!! If Mr. Nonsense can do it SO CAN YOU!!! Look idiot, I've bought old consoles before, had them work only "OK" just to have them die. Electronics DO NOT last forever. Just because you've been super lucky doesn't mean the entire world has to do WHAT YOU DO.

Also, of course, I don't believe you for one second.

"For the ridiculous import price of $80 for a Wiimote attachment"

Once again you prove to everyone what kind of idiot you are. Let me explain it to you since you didn't quit get it the first time:

1. $80 is a PRIVATE PARTY PRICE.

2. $80 is NOT an import price.

3. These could be sold at any price, we just have to wait to see who else sells one.

4. That price is based on "rarity" alone.

"I bought a like new in box SNES for $60 with shipping! With the $20 left, you could get a couple games as well. It doesn't take up entertainment space because I leave them stored until I feel like playing them, then it takes only 2 minutes to hook it up."

What the hell does THAT have to do with anything? Once again you FAIL to "get it". You obviously did not understand what I said.

"Everyone who plays games is from a smoking house?"

Read it again you grade school dropout. Maybe you'll get it the second time!

"I'm sure there is some "junk" being sold on ebay, but that applies to everything on ebay."

Which is why your suggestion sucks!

"Everyone knows the pain of blowing into NES games to get them working"

Then quit giving out CRAP suggestions if you already know.

"but a new 72 pin connector can be bought for $7 and installed easily in 10 minutes."

HAHAHAHA!!!!!!! ! Wow, your ignorance shows no end. You think the average person can do that? HAHAHAHA!!!!!!! !

"Cartridge based systems last very long because of no moving parts."

No moving parts yes, last forever? 100% wrong!

"There's also the bonus of getting the whole old school experience with the same console you remember playing right in front of you."

And? Who told you that was a requirement? Who cares?

"The games do not go down in value, as they already have."

Oh, I see. So the games DON'T go down in value because that already HAVE gone down in value. Wow!!! That's some real brainiac power there. How long did it take you to come up with that?

"Rare games like SNES Super Mario RPG only go up in value, and are quite valuable."

UNUSED!!!!!!! Beat up old carts are near worthless.

"Much much better value than an $80 "classic" imported controller attachment for the $250 Wii, with ROMS costing $5-$10ea on top of that."

Ugh...so sad....

1. The controller does NOT cost $80. As usual you think eBay depicts fact.

2. Who told you cost was an issue? To have something that works 100% I'd rather pay more money. You can keep living the dream of original NES consoles being 100% up to par but it's only a dream.

I also like you completely glossed over the new NES consoles. CLASSIC!

Sure, I was lucky EVERY time. Actually I'm not a moron and know a good deal when I find one. Your ebay skills must really suck when you buy a torn up console and don't have sense to file a dispute.

"For the ridiculous import price of $80 for a Wiimote attachment"

Since Nintendo tries to make everything rare to raise prices, I'm sure you can expect to pay at least $40+ for one if it comes here. Of course it's useless without a $40 Wii mote.

"I bought a like new in box SNES for $60 with shipping! With the $20 left, you could get a couple games as well. It doesn't take up entertainment space because I leave them stored until I feel like playing them, then it takes only 2 minutes to hook it up."

"What the hell does THAT have to do with anything? Once again you FAIL to "get it". You obviously did not understand what I said."

No, I understand. You like being ripped of by Nintendo. Therefore my common sense suggestion was ignored.

"Everyone who plays games is from a smoking house?"

"Read it again you grade school dropout. Maybe you'll get it the second time!"

You're assuming it will probably come from a smoking house. I've never had any smoke damage on my consoles (I guess I'm really lucky again, just like my XBOX 360 still works.) Besides, coming from a smoking house doesn't matter unless they're a very heavy indoor smoker.

"I'm sure there is some "junk" being sold on ebay, but that applies to everything on ebay."

"Which is why your suggestion sucks!"

You have to use INTELLIGENCE to determine if a console is junk by reading feedback and looking at pictures. Again, doesn't apply to you.

"Everyone knows the pain of blowing into NES games to get them working"

"Then quit giving out CRAP suggestions if you already know."

They can be easily fixed, some have the connectors already replaced.

"but a new 72 pin connector can be bought for $7 and installed easily in 10 minutes."

"HAHAHAHA!!!!!!! ! Wow, your ignorance shows no end. You think the average person can do that? HAHAHAHA!!!!!!! !"

Yes, the average INTELLIGENT person can do it easily. It simply plugs in with no soldering needed. I know it's beyond you, because you're a Wii-tard.

"Cartridge based systems last very long because of no moving parts."

No moving parts yes, last forever? 100% wrong!"

Did I say last forever? Will your Wii last forever? Cartridge systems are more reliable than anything that uses discs.

"There's also the bonus of getting the whole old school experience with the same console you remember playing right in front of you."

And? Who told you that was a requirement? Who cares?"

It's a bonus, not required. You like a classic controller but not the classic console?

"The games do not go down in value, as they already have."

"Oh, I see. So the games DON'T go down in value because that already HAVE gone down in value. Wow!!! That's some real brainiac power there. How long did it take you to come up with that?"

No time, I have common sense. If you buy a used game 5 years old or older, it will not go down in value futher. Virtual Console downloads are immediately worthless.

That's rich! You claim I don't have any sense to file a claim yet I never said anything about having bought on eBay!!!! You DIPSH1T!!!! Plus, I said they worked OK at first. You only get to file a claim within 30 days! You FAILED twice in one sentence!!!!

"Since Nintendo tries to make everything rare to raise prices, I'm sure you can expect to pay at least $40+ for one if it comes here. Of course it's useless without a $40 Wii mote."

More BS from Mr. Nonsense! Gee, a JAPANESE company is only selling it's product in Japan? OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

"No, I understand. You like being ripped of by Nintendo. Therefore my common sense suggestion was ignored."

Wrong again. Have you "gotten it" yet?

"You're assuming it will probably come from a smoking house."

I've purchased used equipment that was from a smoker and they are disgusting. I've also gotten factory refurbs that were from smokers and they to were disgusting. That is my opinion and obviously it's possible and it REMAINS a reason for me to STAY AWAY from such things. If I were a smoker it most likely wouldn't be a big deal. Plus I NEVER said it was guarantee. I said POSSIBILITY.

"I've never had any smoke damage on my consoles"

And? Who the hell cares?

"You have to use INTELLIGENCE to determine if a console is junk"

No you don't. All you know is what you're told. All it has to do is fail AFTER you've gotten it. You can talk talk talk talk all you want. The fact is PEOPLE WILL BUY WHAT they want. Regardless of you or what you say about them. Have you "gotten it" yet?

"Yes, the average INTELLIGENT person can do it easily."

WRONG! Like I said, your ignorance sees no end.

"It simply plugs in with no soldering needed. I know it's beyond you, because you're a Wii-tard."

The average person would NEVER open up a consumer electronic device. You run the risk of electrocuting yourself. Intelligence has NOTHING to do with it. Knowledge is key. But I wouldn't expect a know-nothing like yourself to understand such things.

"Did I say last forever?"

No, you didn't, you said VERY LONG and your comparison to other types of devices is STILL wrong.

"Will your Wii last forever?"

No. Why do you ask?

"Cartridge systems are more reliable than anything that uses discs."

WRONG! Cartridge systems so far have lasted the LEAST amount of time on average versus other form factors. contact pins wear out. Before you try to BS your way out of that one, I have an original laser disc system that still works great. So your generalized comments are BS as usual.

"It's a bonus, not required. You like a classic controller but not the classic console?"

I believe I've explained myself plenty. If you can't understand then that's on you.

"No time, I have common sense."

HAHAHAHA!!!!!!! ! You call that common sense? I call it back peddling BS.

"If you buy a used game 5 years old or older, it will not go down in value futher."

BS, all games that are 5 years old do not cost $1. NES games do. Those other games will eventually cost $1 as well.

"Virtual Console downloads are immediately worthless."

We already went over this. Fix your record.

"Near worthless you say?"

Yes, a $1 game today is near worthless. Did my keyboard stutter again?

"You're assuming they're all beat up?"

Did I say all?

"A paid ROM download is worthless. Once again you know nothing as you have no experience dealing with these things."

Wow, a third time? Dude, your record is broken beyond all repair!

"Why would you want a Chinese copy? It's not the same. "

Am I just lucky? No, morons like you buy crappy used consoles. You probably did something to break it like your XBOX since you have 0 mechanical skills.

No I do understand. An idiot like you would leave it plugged in to get shocked. Actually a NES only has 10 volts coming in, so it couldn't even shock a moron like yourself.

"If you buy a used game 5 years old or older, it will not go down in value futher."

BS, all games that are 5 years old do not cost $1. NES games do. Those other games will eventually cost $1 as well.

Look on ebay or go to a vintage game store and see how many games are for sale that cost only $1. Very few if any, even for the NES. The fact you claim that all games will cost $1 shows how much you're willing to embarass youself to "prove" me wrong.

"Near worthless you say?"

Yes, a $1 game today is near worthless. Did my keyboard stutter again?"

All the torn up, label missing, dusty copies of Super Mario/Duck hunt may sell for $1, but nearly ALL games are worth many times more.

Your keyboard didn't stutter, your brain did.

"Cartridge systems are more reliable than anything that uses discs."

Considering laserdisc never took off and was probably rarely used it still works. Contact pins can be cleaned easily (again, too complex for Wii tards.) What's your point again, oh yes, YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT WHAT YOU SPEAK.

"OMG you are F@CKING STUPID!!!! Who said anything about Chinese? That was an AMERICAN COMPANY you f@cktard!"

Nothing. Are you frustrated at my determination (and success) in making you look incompetent? Are personal problems like difficulty with sex making you irritable and confrontational ? Keep up the childish insults, they can't hurt your lacking credibility any more!

Here you go again, more Mr. Nonsense narrow minded comments about how the whole world MUST equal himself or everyone else BUT HIMSELF is in the wrong.

"You probably did something to break it like your XBOX since you have 0 mechanical skills."\

That's just getting old. Can't you come up with some new material?

"No I do understand."

No, you don't. Your turn!

"An idiot like you would leave it plugged in to get shocked."

This is where you prove to the world (for the 100th+ time) that you are truly ignorant in the ways of....well, everything! I'll give you just one clue for you to run with then you need to go learn the rest yourself (as impossible as that is...). Capacitors HOLD A CHARGE. It is not safe for anyone without knowledge to open up electronic devices. With that said I wish you would hurry up and kill yourself!

"Actually a NES only has 10 volts coming in, so it couldn't even shock a moron like yourself"

HAHAHAHA!!!!!!! !!!!!! You're an idiot. Yeah, it's only 4 more volts then a 6 volt battery, what's the big deal? Go ahead, stick your tongue on it and get a tingle! PLEASE!!!!! Do it!!!!!!

"Look on ebay or go to a vintage game store and see how many games are for sale that cost only $1. Very few if any, even for the NES."

Unlike you, I don't talk out my rear end. I HAVE LOOKED AT THEM and the majority of them are $1.

"The fact you claim that all games will cost $1 shows how much you're willing to embarass youself to "prove" me wrong."

HAHAHAHA!!!!!!! !!!!! What an idiot you are!!!! I NEVER said that "ALL" of them cost $1. Damn you FAIL HARD!!!!!

"All the torn up, label missing, dusty copies of Super Mario/Duck hunt may sell for $1"

While that's probably true, there are also games with none of those problems for $1.

"but nearly ALL games are worth many times more."

That would mean at least 90% are worth more then $1. You are getting ripped off!!!! Goto EB Games you moron.

Wow....that's great....

"Considering laserdisc never took off and was probably rarely used it still works. Contact pins can be cleaned easily (again, too complex for Wii tards.) What's your point again, oh yes, YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT WHAT YOU SPEAK."

HAHAHAHA!!!!!!! !!!!! I like how you attempted to deter that one. Work moron. I gave you an AMERICAN company and you argued about Chinese.

Fact are FACTS - YOU FAIL!

"Are personal problems like difficulty with sex making you irritable and confrontational ?"

???? Seriously, is this all you have left?

"Keep up the childish insults, they can't hurt your lacking credibility any more!"

You mean like you calling everyone who owns a Wii a wiitard? You mean like you saying that people who are mentally impaired deserve to be mad fun of? Don't make me post all my lovely links of you acting like a complete POS. I HAVE TONS OF THEM as you are well aware.
