Ubisoft has officially announced that they'll be releasing Assassin's Creed 2 during their next fiscal year (March 2009 to March 2010). Let the record show that Michael Pachter was right. Although let the record also show that it was an easy call to make.

Can't really say I'm that hyped up about it. So far all we have on Assassin's Creed 2 is a bunch of rumors, from being set in the French Revolution, to Altair being able to swim. The second one seems likely, though the first one sounds... not. Either rumor doesn't get me all that hot to get my hands on Altair. Wait... that didn't sound right.

Anyhoo... a new Ghost Recon game is also on the way, although Ubisoft declined to mention a finalized name. They will also be releasing Red Steel 2 in the next fiscal year, something Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot let slip.

I predict assassins creed 2 will be the closest thing we'll get to a "REAL" Prince of Persia game this year..pity.
