Twilight Princess visuals disappoints Okami director |

Ó

To be frank, I was disappointed when I saw [Twilight Princess'] visuals. I'm a Zelda freak -- it's no overstatement to say that I created Okami because of Zelda. I really wanted [Twilight Princess] to have that regal aura, because Zelda was what we were aspiring to. I wanted it to show me things that were surprising, but...
That quote up there was taken straight (the translation's from Joystiq, actually) from Okami director Hideki Kamiya, who was in Tokyo last week to pick up an Entertainment Award for his work on Okami at the 10th Media Arts Festival, an annual event held by Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs. During the awards, Kamiya was asked for his impressions of Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and his answer's right up there at the top of this post.
So, what do you guys think? Does the next gen edition of the legendary Zelda videogame franchise indeed disappoint graphics-wise? Leave a comment below and let us know your views and opinions.

It did make me think...wow i cant wait for a future zelda on a next gen nintendo console (i think there will be one now)
It was the best looking Zelda game to date though (although i was one of the people that really loved the cel shaded wind waker :)

Not because wii is not a 360 or ps3, but just because the design is not as artistique as he should be.
They should have do like Okami, with paint style or other, but not simply like other "classic" games.
Don' t be mistake; Twilight is graphicly great (for a game cube, of course), but not enought magic as can be ZWW or okami.

Sure the graphics might be nicer and of a greater quality on Xbox 360 and PS3, but I don't play because of graphics, I play because of story and gameplay. And guess what Twilight Princess truely has that, as well as some pretty aesthetically pleasing graphics as well.
So all in all, you don't need to glam everything up with these new HD graphics and picture perfect pixels, it's a waste of time, because I would never buy a game just because its graphics are better.

I enjoy a game with a story, and gameplay, but I'd like stunning graphics to go with it. To me, the texture's seemed muddy, and... just blah.
If it's not pretty and shiny, then why would you want to continue playing it? in case it has good gameplay or story?
A game could have the best story in the world, but if it's just a cluttered mess, I'm not gonna play it.

It's a tale of two sides, would you like a game that lasts for 30 hours and has amazingly great graphics, or would you prefer the graphics to be cut a little and have 60 hours of game play?
People seem to forget that graphics also take up space on the disk, and then either complain that the game is too short, or if the graphics are not so good. And i'm sure that Resident Evil 4 used pictures as backgrounds which is just cheating as it's easier to make it look good.

And considering that we had Windwaker as the previous title, TP looks astounding in comparison. Granted, I loved WW too and thought it was a masterpiece as well, but TP looks far better in the grand scheme of things.
