What's in a name? Philosophical rhetoric aside, a lot of us remember our reactions to Nintendo's ancient announcement that they'd changed the Revolution's name to the Wii.Now after facing all those bad toilet jokes and equally bad puns ("Wii move you!"), the naming strategy payed off - it's cute, short, and remembered. Unfortunately, we'll probably never hear the end of remarks like, "Just imagine, soon every kid in America will one day go home and play with their Wii!" Yes, that's quite a vision.
But think about it - is the Wii the only console out there that suffered from a bad name? As hard as it is to believe, other consoles have suffered similar fates, and will be remembered not for their strides in next-gen gaming, but for providing console devs our there a lesson on how (not) to name a console.
Courtesy of Game.net, we bring to you their list of the top 10 weirdest console names we've seen - for those who've heard stranger names names, we're all ears. Feel free to read up on the source link for further details.
