Named after Super Bowl-winning professional football coach for the Oakland Raiders during the 1970s, John Madden. The coach insisted he would only endorse a game as close to real life football as possible. Obviously, he signed up with EA.

Estimated Sales: 3.8 million
Revenues: $120 million
GT3's killer app style, graphics and simulation-style driving mechanics are what a hungry PS2 market was looking for. The first PS2 pack-in title helped drive sales even further.

Revenues: $170 million

The storyline is better, the graphics are better and the fact that it could be played over and over in campaigne and multiplayer unlike vice city which never had anything that made me come back to it.

But I would like to know where Halo 2 is, and yea I could see madden selling that well.
Also, wiki isn't always right, and they might have been talking about the series as a whole, I'm not sure though.

and Halo is a good franchise but GTA apealed to people who didnt just like shooting aliens.
they liked shooting PROSTITUTES and STEALING CARS.

Things like 50cent bullet proof and spongebob have no place on any best list, except the best waste of a game and best failures.

and vice city was really cool, but san andreas was WAY better!
this list is crap, madden, a lendary game? madden games are crap, halo was cool, nothing special there and super smash bros? I never liked that!

Plus, like someone already said, why do they call up multiple versions of Madden, but every other franchise seems to get only one spot? It looks like some douche just slapped some numbers on his personal top 100 and called it sales figures. This list fails. Reroll.

P.S. People keep b*tching about games like Halo sucking and GTA being so much better, but thats just 'cause you are such avid fanboys about one company or the other that you cant pull your heads out of your a*sses to open your eyes and actully PLAY the games on OTHER CONSOLES.
