Wedbush Morgan's Michael Pachter is at it again, and the analyst has predicted that this year's holiday season will be a sales battle between Nintendo Wii and Microsoft Xbox 360. It actually comes as no surprise, especially since both of them ended the turkey week sales neck-to-neck, with the Wii scoring 350,000 units sold against the Xbox 360's 310,000 in this year's Black Friday sale.
Sony's PlayStation 3 will also enjoy a brisk sales period now that the new 40GB SKU has been introduced, enabling the Blu-ray game system to hit a good 150,000 to 200,000 units sold.
No matter which console ends up as the winner, Pachter believes that this year will end up proving to be a profitable period for the gaming industry.

Sorry bro but this is just not a reality. Maybe this might happen in 3 years from now but for the next few years you need to get used to sony NOT being on top.
I would like to think so, i mean UT3 will spark some sales and Sony did say they have some surprises for the PS3 come Christmas. wilmheath do you have solid proof that its not going to happen. Your the one acting like a fanboy.
I'm a fanboy of reality son. Right now the reality is i'm enjoying mass effect and your enjoying trying to keep the ps3 alive. It's real and it's happening now.
there's no way the ps3 can outsell the 360 even though their the same price.The 360 is more popular & the Wii has the Wiimote so the ps3 will fall behind the Wii & 360 this year & the next even though they have ps3 commericals on every time I turn on a tv.

At least in the US the 360 will outshine the PS3 but I'm sure Japan will stick to their horse this holiday season. Unless these supposed "big surprises" are actually big I don't see Sony coming out ahead. 360's got some pretty tempting exclusives upcoming to Japan (Lost Odyssey, NG2, Inf. Undiscovery) but you never know.
unfortunately this is the consequence, although for me, its BIG - back to Warhawk, finishing AC, Uncharted this month, hopefully Haze this month, still got my eye on COD4
