Three Retro Studios seniors move on |
Ó
Much to Metroid fans' dismay, a few familiar names parted ways with the more familiar Retro Studios. According to various reports, key staff behind the developer of Nintendo's Metroid Prime trilogy left the company.Lead designer Mark Pacini, engineer Jack Mathews, and art director Todd reportedly left Retro Studios for reasons yet to be disclosed. The trio might intend to form their own video game development studio since they're all capable senior staff members, but that's just a rumor.
As of now, it is at least safe to assume great games for Nintendo's console will continue to come from Retro's camp. The next Metroid game probably won't be from the same team that brought us Prime, but there's no doubt Retro Studios is going to work on the Wii as a first-party developer for Ninty.
