headParties make life for journalists and marketing people a whole lot better. First, they allow these guys to get some really good (free) food, the scribes are treated like royalty and the marketing people can gab and get new contacts for their next sale. It's a win-win situation. So here's THQ's Loaded 2006 event at Sydney, Australia.

THQ showed their lineup for the remaining months of 2006. Capcom and Sega were also there by the way. Unfortunately, there was no representative from Sony.

Will the real game consoles please stand up? The hosts were gracious enough to bring a PS3, although journalists suspect that the contraption covered by a white sheet wasn't the real thing but was a dev kit. What surprised them more was the controller. It seemed light and easy to carry, although it might change on D-Day. They played Virtua Tennis 3 on the PS3 dev kit for a while. As for the Wii, they only brought a shell and some sample controllers. They seemed smaller than expected. Release date for Australia will be within the year.
  • Destroy All Humans was a huge success. Hence, the sequel Destroy All Humans 2. For the moment, the game looked almost like its older brother. There's open world gameplay in the newest version. According to most journalists who attended, the PS version looked way better than the Xbox's.
  • Dead Rising is a game that many people have been waiting for. What is it with zombies and games; they seem to be made for each other? The journalists were attracted to the demo like zombies in a mall. Wait, that's the premise of the game, heheh. What's cool about it is that you can use almost anything in the mall to inflict pain on these poor denizens of the dark. Golf balls to the skull obviously kills them.
  • Lost Planet was just the same demo they showed during E3. However, it still looked as magnificent as before. The game will be out by January.
  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, is an FPS long over due. It was started in 2001 and has been delayed for various reasons. Let's hope that at least the demo of this Ukrainian game gets out before the end of the year. According to observers, the open ended game is something to look forward to.
  • WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 hasn't changed its already great gameplay (we reported on before on its PS3, PSP, and Xbox 360 versions) . Although they did manage to add something new: expanded general manager mode, updated rosters, and online play.
  • Sonic Rivals. Most were impressed with the speed of the game. It felt old school to them, but the graphics were a blast.
  • Sonic the Hedgehog. This game for the Xbox 360 looked quite good, although it had some frame rate and oversensitive control problems.
  • Avatar. A nickelodeon game going for the Wii. Looked more like a hack and slash game. They were hoping that it would improve as it nears completion.
  • SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab. They found it thoroughly enjoyable although confusing at some levels. Probably, because it was still incomplete?

Do your homework before posting stupid articles, smackdown vs raw was canceled for the PS3, which deffinatly makes me question the authenticity of your list of games.
