Rock on! While the full track list for Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (PS3, 360, Wii) gave us goosebumps as it was ("Slow Ride" FTW!), it turns out that the Sex Pistols will get an encore round for the game. Since Activision wasn't able to find the original multi-tracks for inclusion in the game, they called in The Sex Pistols themselves and told them they wanted to use their song.The punk band was invited into the studio to re-record a couple of songs, one of which was the hit "Anarchy in the UK" - we're talking the original members doing a re-recording here and that includes Johnny Rotten, Steve Jones, and Paul Cook.
Lead vocals Johnny Rotten (AKA John Llydon) stated: "Re-recording the songs - what a stress you put on us but we rose to the occasion I think... admirably! A bit of anarchy in a video game is alright by me."
Meanwhile, Steve Jobs Jones himself seems to be like an avid fan of the Guitar Hero series, as he's been quoted to say:
It was great for Guitar Hero to, in a way, get us back in the studio. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but it actually turned out great and I think everyone held their own. I like Guitar Hero because my friends' kids like it. And I like what kids like.
