PR - The Beatles: Rock Band Worldwide Release Set for 9/9/09 - Image 1

We finally have a solid release date for the Rock Band game starring the band that rocked the world, The Beatles. The game is slated for a release on September 9, released simultaneously worldwide for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the Wii.

The Beatles: Rock Band will come in three flavors, depending on the hardware you want to buy. Here are your choices:
  • Limited Edition Premium Bundle (US$ 249.99) will allow fans to pick up the guitar, bass, mic or drums and experience The Beatles extraordinary catalogue of music through gameplay that takes players on a journey through the legacy and evolution of the bandÂ’s legendary career.
  • Standalone Guitars Edition (US$ 99.99) will offer a limited number of new hardware offerings modeled after instruments used by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr throughout their career.
  • Software Edition (US$ 59.99)  will be offered as standalone software and hardware as well as a limited edition bundle. The game will be compatible with all Rock Band instrument controllers and other current music-based video game peripherals.
Unfortunately, the press release didn't include a song list, but I'm hoping it'll have Yellow Submarine in there.

» $250?

Just damn. I'm getting the game because I like the Beatles and already bought RB1 & RB2 but holy bajeezus.

» A bet

I would bet 20 bucks right now that despite their claim, that this game, or at least the bundle, will be released on 360 first and in North America at least a week before Europe. The PS3 and Wii will follow behind in all territories.

» ...

Rb2 only came out on 360 first because Microsoft paid them to. It's not some claim, it's a fact and Microsoft let everyone know about it.

I doubt The Beatles will follow suit because obviously not everyone who plays RB loves the Beatles, so unless MS is willing to shell out more money, it'll have a simultaneous release across all platforms.

» they will

It happened on both RB and RB2 and it WILL happen again.

Microsoft will definitely shell out. Definitely.

» LOL

I like the Beatles.. I don't love them, but I would buy a couple of their CDs.. I'm 18 years old. I'll bet you a hundred dollars you'd recognize at least ten Beatles songs. And some of the most popular music is stuff from the 60s, 70, 80s.. They're used all the time in movies and video games and commercials..

» actually...

Rock Band 1 came out at the same time for PS3 and 360, at least in the US and Canada it did.

» Wow @ zzk2001

» You're a fool

The Beatles and Elvis are still always the two highest grossing music acts every year, even tho Elvis and half the Beatles are dead and last performed decades ago. Look it up. You can combine multiple music stars of today, even together they don't touch what the Beatles make every year

The Beatles are still immensely popular, and honestly most of their material is better than anything recent, which really says something about the music industry's current state

Really not liking that $250 price tag tho, wtf. I thought $190 was outrageous
