Target: Wii ain't here

Ó

Happy desolation. That's the oxymoron we cooked up as we pored over evidence of how things fared for the Wii. The guys at GoNintendo have gone on a shopping exodus, in hopes of buying a Wii console. One Walmart and one GameStop retailer later, they found themselves at Target, the last stop of the day. And the results of the long trek?

The Wii console shelf is on the left, with the PS3 on the right. It seems that the Wii faces the same problem wherever they went. Both Walmart and Gamestop reported "0" for the Wii, adding that they sold out within 30 minutes of making it to the storage rooms.

As an added plus, if you look carefully *brings out magnifying glass*, there's quite an abundance of titles up for grabs. Given the kind of news we've been hearing for the unit, consider this as a first-hand glimpse of the sales reports. On a last note - there are reports that a Target Wii shipment is due this 21st. Be ready.

# Worse at Fry'sGuest 2007-01-14 04:22
I was at my local Fry's Electronics last night and they had zero Wiis. They did however have two pallets of PS3s in the middle of an aisle. It was at least 70 of them.

With all the new of PS3's stacking up everywhere, and having no buyers, things is look n grim for Sony. Hell Gamestop is saying they can't even give them away. PS3 is the new Kooties!

nintendo is now not only trouncing sony in the handheld market, but the console market as well.

After work on Friday I stopped at 3 stores, Best Buy, Wal-Mart and Target. Here are the results:

Best Buy - 1 20GB PS3, 0 Wii

Wal-Mart - 1 60 GB PS3, 0 Wii

Target - 4 60GB PS3, 0 Wii

At Best But I saw about 7 people around the Wii video and none at the PS3 test station.

I went scouring for games and a Wiimote last night and had similar results. Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Target, K-Mart, Gamestop, and EB Games all had six or more PS3's each, and zero Wiis. Or Wiimotes for that matter...
