It all started out as a simple question in the NeoGAF forums, with someone querying if there was a Nintendo press event coming soon. Rumors ablaze and conspiracy theorists a-surging, what once was speculation is now looking more and more real. Maybe there really is an event coming up, probably as early as next week even.
Common sentiment holds that a "media summit" would take place, with Nintendo revealing some potentially big news on two of their most awaited titles Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Some attribute this to the countdown at the SSBB official site and the reservations of Metroid on GameStop.
The most official-sounding (we're not saying it's official; we're saying it's official-sounding) is a post made by Geek, who reveals specific dates and other official-sounding details:
The Media Summit will take place May 22 (all invitees) and May 23 (pre-approved long-lead only invitees on embargo). No mention of embargoes on the earlier stuff yet, but expect some new *something*, including 3rd party software. Stuff should start showing up after 6 PM PST on the 22nd (unless some Blackberry owners start posting from the event).
Embargoes? Who the heck uses that term these days? For some reason, the mention of such words makes it official-sounding. In any case, be sure to keep your eyes peeled. We'll bring you guys more info as soon as they become official (sans "-sounding").

I can't see any character who hasn't been either attacked or attacked someone be a character in ssb or ssbm: Tom Nook doesn't fall into this category of characters. Even though it would be nice to see him... It just won't work :(
I nearly exploded in my pants until I saw the picture of Isaac. Then I realized the big, fat, ugly truth that it's a fake :(. Hell of a line-up though..

Yeah, Tom Nook would be awesome! He could attack people by throwing rediculously high mortgage prices at them! Solid Snake wouldn't know what hit him!
In my opinion, playing as Olimar, Banjo-Kazooie, Tom Nook, Bomberman, and Balloon Fighter would be pretty awesome. The only problem I see with this line-up would be that there is no Adult Link.

man they got alot of characters i wanted in the last 1. Ridly and all o em, no dumb copies (i hope, i hated them!) and a wide selection. I hope they have at least considerd some of the characters in that pic

Hey it said Metroid what was I supposed to do, walk away? Hell no! I love Metroid, can't wait to hear the NEW News. Smash Bros. Eh, I like it, but Metroid is First in my book, then the other games. well, i have to go, Later N00bs!
pic forgot windwaker link, bowser jr and that dragon or whatever he is from metroid those are real charcters
they had windwaker link and ridley up there they didnt have bowser jr. but i dont expect too much out of him but jus to be a support character
