Hydrophobia... what the hell is it?

Lurking deep below the surface, a new game has now been revealed. Well, partially, at least. The water is still quite murky, but the developers of World Snooker Championship 2007 (for the PS3 and 360), Blade Interactive, have posted a curious entry on their main website.

Apparently, Hydrophobia has been a top secret R&D project that has already been in development for years. Now that the next-generation consoles are out, the ongoing technological advancement has now been able to push this game into an "almost ready to be rolled out" status. Here's what Blade has to say:

Hydrophobia is a game like no other, utilising BladeÂ’s groundbreaking technology to deliver an experience which is set to redefine the boundaries of gaming. WeÂ’re not quite ready to raise the curtain fully on Hydrophobia just yet, but we promise you the wait will be more than worth it.

Curiouser and curiouser. What the hell is it? Will it play like an FPS/TPS? The whole underwater feel, as seen in the artwork, reminds us of like Bioshock. Could it be an RPG, action-adventure, or survival horror game? And much more, which console will this game grace?

Here's to hoping this game surfaces with much more info very soon. For now, take a dip with some concept art for the game and download them from the link below.

» Sounds cool

Would this not be sweet if this turned out to come out on the PSP and really showed what the PSP can do. I think that would be cool if it did.

» Very interesting

I agree this looks pretty damn interesting - very cool artwork and it looks like they are adding new artwork regularly now - if only a bit at a time. Perhaps the puzzle will begin to be revealed bit by bit
