Sweaty hands plus Wiimote equals?

You do not have to swing the Wiimote around that hard to play a game. The truth is only minimum movements are required at times.

Of course, that makes you lose out on most of the fun that the Wii has to offer. I mean, do you really want to play all those games with your butt flat on the couch, your arms twitching a bit, and your mouth drooling in detached enjoyment? No! You want to get up on your feet and swing that white little thing around and immerse yourself.

However, you can immerse yourself a bit too much. Wonder what happens when you're having a bit too much fun? Click play on the vid embed below and witness the combustible combination that is sweaty palms, Wii Sports Tennis, and an overeager player.

Note that this is just tennis. We wonder what will happen if people enjoy themselves a bit too much playing Bleach? (Remember that Byakuya's bankai involves him dropping his soul slayer; do you drop your Wiimote?) Oh the injuries!

see u have 1 idiot post screens about throwing his wiimote and now everyone and their mother has "suddenly" been droping theres. i find it very near impossible to believe any of these incidents since i own a wii and me and my cousins have forced the controller as hard as possible, its hard to have it "slip" from sweaty or greasy hands since u have to hold the controller with your index around the B trigger. to the idiots out there i suggest you hold the wiimote how it is supposed to be held.

So it's possible that they had a sweaty hand and didn't have their index around the B trigger, isn't it?

Why is something like this so hard to understand:(

» @kura

put it this way, my hands sweat ALOT when i play for a few ours, but from what the controller is made out of it doesnt slip when u sweat, infact your hands get stickier to the plastic so throwing the remote is impossible unless u intetionally let it lose to get 15 minutes of fame on qj and have an excuse to write an article ;)

This is their own fault, not nintendos. If they have a crappy lose grip, what do you think will happen.

Good to see that nintendo is still making pretty solid controllers. I remember the NES controller. You could throw that thing at a wall and it would make a hole in the wall without scratching the controller. It's nice to see that Wiimote still in one piece.

» wow

I'm pretty impressed that the controller is still functional.

However, I'm not impressed with the number of incidents of Wiimotes slipping out of people's hands. I mean, I'm sure it wasn't intentional, and you cannot blame the person for letting it go. Do you think that the person intentionally wanted to hit the wall with the Wiimote? So how can you say that it was their own fault when it is an accident?

There's something funadamentally wrong here if Nintendo didn't realize that this may have been an issue. It should have been addressed.

Everyone's gotta stop defending Nintendo. I'm sure if Sony's controller had a similar issue, everyone would be jumping all over them saying that they made a faulty controller.

Double standards.

» People are dumb

You cant rely on the wrist strap to keep the Wii-mote in your hands, you still have to grip the thing. And if your hands do get that sweaty that the Wii-mote flies out of your hands and breaks the wrist strap, by one of those rubber controller grips. Learn how to use the controller.

» This is a bunch of bull!!!

Even if this guy would have lubricant on his hands the controller would still not slip out that easily. Anyways, even IF this was real, the good thing is that the controller didnt break apart, just dont try doing that with the PS3. lol

» Whats the message?

Dont buy the Wii because you could hurt someone or break a something? No shenanigans here...You guys in the media sure are making it clear how dangerous it is and we should take note. Now I'm just waiting for someone to report of an instant Wii-related death. Remote to the head caused by the slip of the sweaty hand perhaps?
