Supreme Commander To Be Brought To Consoles? |
Ó
If you're a gamer who's looking for more new RTS games for your console of choice then you're in luck. Chris Taylor, the guy who brought us Total Annihilation and Dungeon Siege, has expressed an interest in bringing his latest RTS title Supreme Commander to consoles in a recent interview with CVG.
Taylor was asked if he thought Supreme Commander would work well on consoles, to which he responded with a resounding positive. Taylor also said that he and Gas Powered Games were "going to explore that for sure."
No further hints were offered on a possible console port for Supreme Commander, which is shaping up to be one of the biggest RTS releases of 2007. Taylor's responses make the possibility a very likely one though, and RTS fans would surely appreciate getting the chance to play the game on their favorite consoles. We know we will.

Though this game requires some massive processing power, its safe to speculate that if it does get released on a console, its probably going to be something powerful enough like xbox 360 or PS3.
Not to mention, the selection of RTS titles for consoles is currently pretty meager. If SupCom does make it to console, its bound to introduce more people to the RTS genre. A genre that for the most part, is mostly populated by hardcore PC gamers.
RTS on consoles is not a great idea.
In this gen, Sup Com will be horrendously crippled on Wii, but the controls will at least be the best of three.
But wait, think about Eyetoy, 360 Vision.
With PS3's HDIP camera(which is rumoured to know the depth of the objects), I'm sure they'll make a great port(Minority Report).
But that's just my ultimate fantasy.
It'll never happen.
If it does, quote me and give me millions;)
RTS on a console like the PS3 is a very great idea, considering that you can use a mouse and keyboard with the PS3. Not only that, there's the EyeToy and motion sensing controller. It'll be great.
