Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Japan): Low release numbers may lead to delayed pre-orders - Image 1If you're among the guys who pre-ordered Japan's upcoming release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii (aka Dairantou Smash Brothers X), you might be in for a long wait. Word on at least two game importers is that Nintendo is shipping out only a small fraction of the game's copies to Japan's retailers for this week.

Part of the news comes from New York-based retailer National Console Support (NCSX). The importer reports that Nintendo is only going to be able to ship 25 percent of the game for this week due to production shortages.

That means that retailers in Japan will only receive a fourth of whatever number of game copies they have ordered. On the lighter side, NCSX further updated their site to state that they received more shipments than expected. If you don't receive your pre-orders this week, you should be able to get them by next week.

Similar shortages were reported at Play-Asia, which has recently received its first shipment. The site stated that they would only be able to fulfill 15 percent of all their current SSBB pre-orders due to Nintendo's game copy shortage. Play-Asia further announced that due to the expected shopping rush for the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration, they may only be able to fulfill fill all their game pre-orders by the second half of February (at the earliest).

» classic Nintendo!

Ninteno's really got to stop creating these BS shortages. What's the excuse for this one? We had to ramp up production 6 months ago? There's a nationwide DVD plastic shortage?

Ok, now I REALLY don't feel guilty for ISOing it.

Guys, it's only fair that I say this: on january 31, keep looking at www.consolemaniak.com for the iso. If nintendo wants to Fck with us, we'll fight back! Power to the people, man!
