Super Paper Mario movie? - Image 1We've got news of another successful video game that *might* be turned into a movie: Super Paper Mario. In a recent interview with Ignore Magazine, Seth Gordon (director of King of Kong) expressed some interest in making a movie adaptation of the popular Nintendo Wii game.

When we hear talk of video games getting ported to the movies (or vice versa), we usually 1) run screaming from the room, 2) cower and hide, 3) hope for the best, or 4) all of the above. But we're talking about Seth Gordon here, he who can make critics put the words "documentary" and "hit" in the same sentence. Anyway, here's what he had to say:

I'd love, really love, to adapt Super Paper Mario into a movie, a movie that would constantly switch from 2D to 3D. In five years, 3D cinema is going to be really big... (KoK) was screened for Nintendo, but I haven't had the chance to speak to anyone over there about it. But I definitely want to have that conversation.

Arguably, Mario needs redeeming on the silver screen (as well as TV for that matter). What do you think? Will you go to a Super Paper Mario movie?

» Interesting...

Well, that would definitely be an interesting movie, to say the least. I want to see King of Kong, so after that I will be able to judge if the director is up to the task.
