Nintendo of America revealed Mario Super Sluggers for the Wii at the San Francisco media summit. The game is expected to be available in Japan this June. The demonstration showed that the game uses the Wii's waggle to mimic the in-game actions like in Wii Sports.
Bill Trinen, the producer of the game, demoed pitching in the game. Players have to pull back on the Wii remote to wind up and then motion forward when two rings on the screen match up. To put a spin on the ball, gamers will have to twist the remote control while special abilities are handled with the A and B buttons.
Batting in the game is done by swinging Wiimote. Players can charge up a swing by pulling on the controller before the swing. Like pitches, special swings are also available like Mario igniting a ball with his swing.
We can probably expect to hear more about this game in the future. Keep checking back here for more news on Mario Super Sluggers.
