Super Mario Galaxy: How to Battle a Giant Spider

Big Boss SpiderWe saw the recent Wii event threw various high-definition gameplay videos of different titles. Nintendo, this time, even reached as far as the galaxy. Wait! Take note, it is not the far, far away one. On the other hand, this galaxy actually is close to our hearts and something we are all familiar with.

Remember the humongous, acid spewing, three-eyed arachnid we showed you before? It did turn out to be a big boss in Nintendo's upcoming Mario title, Super Mario Galaxy. The gameplay showcases the aptly named Spider World and runs for about five minutes long.

The first few images are reminiscent of classic Mario titles with our Big Brother jumping around, collecting gold coins and hitting stars. Then, we are all reminded that this is next-gen as Mario flew towards the galaxy. There he meets the dreaded Big Boss Spider. Well, maybe not dreaded but a big boss nonetheless.

Will the giant arachnid burn our hero with its green acid? Have Mario finally found his match? The answers are all in the gameplay video. We have to remind you though that the file is rather big (127.79 MB). Super Mario Galaxy is rumored to come out as a Wii launch title.
