Speed Racer (Wii): Gameplay video

Wondering how the Speed Racer title's looking given that it's been more than a month since the devs released any updates? If you're partial for the game's upcoming Wii release (it's also for the DS and PS2), then you'll be happy to know that we've come across what appears to be its first gameplay video.

The game looks to be borrowing elements from other fast-paced racers like Wipeout or F-Zero. That said, the Mach 5 (at least we think it's the same car) appears to have picked up a major makeover since its run in the TV series.

It's just a shame is doesn't show any of the Mach 5's patented gadgets - you'd think the player would use the Aero Jack's for such a cramped track. The video's available for watching below, though you may want to watch for updates as Speed Racer revs up for its scheduled launch this May 6.
