Sonic the Hedgehog 2 spearheads new VC content

The good times never seem to stop on the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console as four more classics from the attic are given a new lease on life and are set for re-launch on the platform.

Easily the most recognizable in the bunch is Sega's mascot Sonic the Hedgehog who takes us for another wild ride on the second installment to his long line of games: Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Whizzing past levels and collecting rings, you must find the Chaos Emeralds before Robotnik does. The game goes out for just 800 Wii Points.

Meanwhile, if you want your action a little more intense, then Golden Axe II may be the game for you. Battle monstrous hordes that are wreaking havoc across kingdoms to bring peace back to your homeland. Like Sonic and Ecco, the game costs 800 Wii Points.

There you have it! This is your chance to get acquainted with titles you missed out on or were too young to play from back then. Don't let it pass a second time.
