Yojiro Ogawa, director and producer of Sonic and the Secret Rings, recently divulged in an interview with the Official Nintendo Magazine that he would be thrilled to see Sonic appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. But he mentions that although it would be great to have Sonic in it, "that would really involve Sonic and Nintendo's management, it's nothing to do with me!"

Aside from that, he also talked about the inspiration for Sonic and the Secret Rings. This is what he has to say about that:

The original Mega Drive Sonic game used only one button and the controls were very simple. That allowed gamers to experience high-speed gameplay and that was something I used as a concept for this title as well.

The Official Nintendo Magazine was also privileged to get their hands on a finished version of the game and their exclusive review will be featured in their Issue 14, which will hit news stands by February 16. Basically, they say that the game is fun to play. Although you may get frustrated and die a lot of times at certain spots, you'll be able to enjoy it once you get the hang of the controls.

Sonic and the Secret Rings is set to be available on February 20 for the U.S., March 3 for Europe, and December 31 for Japan.

# Sonic in Smash Brothers?Guest 2007-02-07 18:03
They'd better jump on the opportunity after the Smash Brothers Melee debacle where people were told that Sonic and Tails were secret characters. Throw Knuckles in there too.

And give Virtual Console Panzer Dragoon while you're at it.
