Song Hero is the new karaoke game on the block?

Song Star - Image 1Guitar Hero studio Activision is muscling in on Sony's territory. Possibly because the instrument game franchise may be getting a little...crowded. The company was last seen registering the trademark "Sing Hero," a possible rival to SingStar?

It's not surprising that Activision is exploring new franchises in the music genre. Their Guitar Hero series saw five new entries this year alone, and it's quite frankly getting a little old. And with Harmonix coming out with The Beatles: Rock Band, Activision will be hard pressed to find an artist group that can even come close to competing.

The trademark filing doesn't give a lot of details into the game. We won't even know if Activision will pull through with it until they officially announce it. One thing's for sure. There sure is a sheer lack of originality in naming music games.

» Well....

If they release they same kind of crappy songs for dlc as they do for Guitar Hero, Sing Hero will be just as damned lousy as Singstar is.

» just wow.

Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, Sing Hero? At least be frickin' creative with the title. I'd have more fun doing Vocals on Rock Band with it's massive DLC library than playing Singstar and Sing Hero combined. They can just sit down with this trash.

» Music games are getting annoying and stale

It feels like yesterday when GH 1 was coming out and everybody was like "hey look at this weird game". Now everybody and their mom wants to make a music game, and the companies that have already made a music game want to make ten more. Rock Band and Guitar Hero are enough, we don't need all these
