SMB: The Lost Levels, Mario's Super Picross rated by OFLC |
Ó
It seems that Nintendo has finally realized that some of the classic video game titles released exclusively in Japan also have enough following in other markets. Just the other day, we learned that Treasure Co. Ltd's Sin and Punishment for the N64 will be soon coming to Australia.
We headed back to the online site of the country's Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) to look for more titles and found out that the board has already rated Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japan) as well as Mario Super Picross. Quite unfortunately, we are still unaware about these games' pricing and release dates.
Super Mario Bros. 2 Japan wasn't released in North America and in other markets in its original form. After releasing it in Japan, Nintendo received a lot of comments saying that the game is too difficult to finish for average gamers. The company modified it then and re-released it under the name SMB2. The original game used to be known as SMB: The Lost Levels.
Mario' Super Picross, on the other hand, is the sequel to Mario's Picross. Nintendo didn't release it in North America as well because, to be honest, the prequel didn't enjoy commercial success. One interesting feature it has is the Wario mode which makes the game a bit harder.

The way that is written is completely wrong. The first 2 sentences are correct. The next two should say: "The company modified another game called Doki Doki Panic, and released it outside of Japan under the name SMB2. The game is known over here as SMB: The Lost Levels when it was brought over here on the 4-game compilation cart, Super Mario All-Stars for SNES. Our SMB2 is known as "Super Mario Bros. USA" in Japan. Do your research a little thoroughly next time before you make statements like that, k?
