Shonen Jump confirms online play for The Last Story

Japanese magazine Shonen Jump has just confirmed the ongoing rumors in message boards and forums the past week regarding Mistwalker adding in a six-player online with co-op and competitive mode for The Last Story.

According to the magazine, players will just need to go to the Raid Lobby to be able to access the online component of the game. Then, you'll have to choose a character for the competitive battle. Either that, or you can team up with other players to beat the crap out of the enemy.

Apart from these tidbits of information, Shonen also delved on the character of General Trista, a knight who used to be the highest ranking officer in the imperial army. "Used to be" because he's now a world traveler instead, searching for the connection between "war and the devastation of the imperial main land." You can bet he's no minor character too, so expect big things to come from this guy.

Andriasang says we can probably expect to hear more about this game from Famitsu as well as the game's official site, so just keep your eyes peeled for that. The Last Story comes out in Japan on January 27th, while the US and European dates have yet to be announced.
