Miyamoto on Ratchet and Clank: Is it a PC game?A few months ago, Insomniac Games' Marketing Director Ryan Schneider had commented that they (Insomniac) were flattered by the amount games out there that were apparently influenced by their Ratchet and Clank franchise.

Schneider went on to mention Shigeru Miyamoto's Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii - the game's spherical worlds also being present in Insomniac's Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal. So, was Miyamoto really taking a cue from Insomniac?

According to the Official Nintendo Magazine UK's upcoming issue, this is not the case. Quoting Miyamoto's statements from his interview with the magazine when quizzed about Insomniac.

In terms of the spherical worlds and anti-gravity, we had the original idea as soon as we finished the development of Mario 64 and had been experimenting with it for many years, even on the N64. It's not an idea we got from anywhere else. I'm sorry but I have to admit that I've never seen the game in question [Ratchet and Clank]. Is it a PC game?

Great minds  - whether indirectly or not - think alike indeed.

Weak Ass Joke But Funny

Ask him how many copies of Ratchet & Clank sold last month compared to Mario Galaxy?

.

Miyamoto doesn't have an ounce of creative energy. Mario games have almost no story. Mario has no background, no personality. The games are as weird and broken as you can imagine. Nintendo just has a lot of money and time to make the games good.

Wow...

Is there really ever a time when you're not spewing Anti-Nintendo (or Nintendo employee) propaganda? I can't say I've ever read a post in which you didn't blow up about something or another, or not complain. Why the constant hatred? Going by what you said whether I agree with you or not, what is wrong with the current state of Mario games like the 64 version and Galaxy? Do you really expect to have a Mario game to have some sort of "epic story" with elaborate twists, long text based conversations at every turn, and much more in that vein. I think you're expecting WAY to much if you do.

WHOA its on now Mr sense!

Your really are completley idiotic arent you?? Miyamoto is the single most creative person in video games he has stated that he gives it a simple story line to make it less complex and easier to understatd for all ages like young children and to keep it simple but amazing fun!! which is alot different from all the other generic stories and games which those are most likly the only games you like GTA, God of war???! Mario is one of the most orignal characters ever hes a super hero plumber living in a world of koopas yoshis and goombas that eats mushrooms to become super mario!! You are completly delirious no one cares how much you despise every thing nintendo!!!!!!! You are completly lame you dont care about any one elses opinion!!!!!
