The Wii has been selling rapidly, and in copious amounts as well. According to research conducted by magazine publisher Enterbrain, the Wii has had a phenomenal following, with over 2 million units sold in Japan since its launch.Despite suffering from worldwide shortages, the Wii and its associated software has been going strong, with expanding sales of software continuing the growth of the console's profits. The most popular of these games has been Wii Sports, which is actually sold separately from the Wii in Japan, as well as Hajimete no Wii, otherwise known as Wii Play to us English-speaking folk.
Combined with the sales in Europe and the United States, the Wii has sold over 6.5 million units, and you can bet that even more are expected to be sold once the games pick up and the gamers really begin to take notice.
