Not content with having Sonic play second fiddle to Mario at the Olympic Games, Sega has decided to field the speedy hedgehog in his own next-gen console title, Sonic Unleashed. Fans of the Sonic series will definitely get a kick out of this upcoming platformer from one of the biggest icons in the video game industry.
The new Sonic title will make use of its own powerful "Hedgehog Engine", which introduces seamless transitions from 3D to the classic 2D view inherent with the series. The new engine gives the game a fresh new "next-gen" look while keeping the feel and gameplay mechanics of the previous Sonic titles.
Sonic goes up against the evil Dr. Eggman once again as everyone's favorite hedgehog tries to put the world back together again after Eggman breaks it apart into several continents. The game will have Sonic racing across several worlds with unique day and night time levels as he puts his speed to the test in this latest adventure.
Sonic Unleashed is slated to be released later this year and will be available for the Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii. Don't forget to keep coming back to this spot for more updates regarding the game.

Really, they should amp up the voice acting, since it's all been going downhill after firing the original ones with the 4kids retards.
We'll just have to keep a look on this...

by basic, i mean ditch the typical speed rush racing. its gotten way too old where you're constantly glued to the surface. ditch the childish approach and u could possibly have a winner
sonic 3 & knuckles is still to be surpassed. sonics bubble shields were a great addition. what makes those game special is the simple yet natural physics such as building momentum down a hill then rolling.
