You'll have to postpone tossing the ol' pigskin in-game until Madden NFL 2010 (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PSP, PC, PS2) comes out, that is unless you're still playing Madden 09. In the meantime, EA Sports rolled out a bunch of screens for us to scrutinize while waiting for updates on the latest game in the John Madden franchise.

There are a hell lot more screens where that came from, which is at GameDaily's rather sizable Madden NFL 2010 screens archive of 168. Head over there if you want to see some more. In case you're wondering, these screens are from the Xbox 360 version.

Release still stands at August 14th for all specified platforms, which is a little over a month from now.

Saw the boxart coverboys yet?

Would have liked to see PSP screen shots in the PSP section.

They might as well just show screenshots of the updated rosters since that's all you're pretty much getting.

They say this is also coming out for the iPhone no? I honestly don't see how that will work if this is true.

It looks like textures were actually scaled down in some ways. Like looking through those screenshots, the arms have no rips at all or no veins.

» Always the same

Well i seen last years game running, so i just imagine that with slightly improved graphics and updated stats and i can know what every EA Sports game will look like.

» Not quite

Haven't you seen any of the feature videos on gametrailers.com? This one looks like it has more innovation in some areas.

» Yes Really.

What is the point of screen shots if a. they aren't off a specific system. b. are not of gameplay.

» wow

they sure captured The Metrodome well. Looks like Shjt in real life, and looks like shjt in game. (I'm not saying the game looks like shjt, just that Stadium in general. it really does suck something awful)

aside from that, bash EA and madden all you want for "just having roster updates" year in and year out, but over the last few iterations on the ps2 from 04 - 09 there was ALWAYS something new. maybe not "innovative" or "ground breaking" but it brought the game to new heights where it wasn't before. People keep bashing it since no one can seem to let go of that ***** game NFL 2k5 (which, the presentation was awesome, and the way you could back load, front load, and trade future picks away was awesome) but I thought the gameplay sucked and the player models looked like long armed gorillas. This version has gotten a major face lift over '09 and i don't really think anyone can say that they look the same at all. IMHO i think this one looks ALOT better. hopefully they add the ripped arms and veins like someone already mentioned was missing, and fix a few things with the half-time show. other then that, i think this game looks pretty sweet comepared to last years version.
