Sakurai Discusses Non-Nintendo Characters

Snake. Snake? SNAAAKE! This inclusion of Solid Snake in Super Smash Bros. Brawl was one of the biggest surprises at E3 last year and now Masahiro Sakurai has revealed a bit more on his plans for non-Nintendo characters on the Japanese Smash Bros. Dojo site.

Firstly, Anime and Manga characters will NOT be in Super Smash Bros. so don't worry. We won't see any Chidoris, Gomu Gomu Bazookas, or Kamehamehas. He also confirmed that any third party characters included must have appeared on a Nintendo platform. Basically, no Master Chief. He also had another reassuring piece of information, "Anyways, at most we'll add another 1 - 2 [third party] characters, maybe?"

In my opinion, that's a perfect amount. It's not too much and it doesn't make Snake look too special. I'd say Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man would probably be the safest bet in this case. How about you?

The top three names that come to mind are Sonic, Megaman, and Bomerman. I'd love Megaman to be there, he could be a combination of Kirby (mimicing powers) and Samus (arm canon).

Sonic...a must have.

Bomerman...whatelse can he do other than plant bombs? I've only played his 2D games, so I wouldn't know his other tallents.

Sonic and Megaman would be awesome. But I can't help but want Kingdom Hearts characters. Like Riku or Sora. And maybe Cloud and Squall. Because they were on an Nintendo system. But yeah Sonic and Megaman would be awesome.

If they get Megaman.. that means they'll have Megaman, Kid Icarus (pit), Samus (in the captain n comics)... but what about Captain N?! How about Simon Belmont!?

then why dont we add leon from re4, baten kaitos characters, FF:CC characters, megaman of course, billy hatcher, sonic, spiderman original or cartoon, fire emblem but they put them in the second game so maybe not, etc all i can think of right now so many possibilities

Why are you guys really like this game ? I find it rather bored and uninteresting. Well, since I find Street fighters and mortal kombats and something like that more fun than this KIDDIE CRAP GAME.

What Nintendo have done for SSB:B character wise is really great No anime or manga characters thats good as it would have spoilt the series completely.

If they're not putting FE characters, they definitely won't put ToP or ToS characters

Only reason Marth and Roy were in SSBM was to basically "advertise" for the future Fire Emblem games. I know thats probably the only reason why I bought FE for GBA. Otherwise I would've never even looked at it

hey guys. you have to think about what would be possible not only which chars you like.

i like many third party games. but in that only sonic and megaman exe have a chance. I thought about rayman and viewtiful joe too. but viewtifull joe isnt really a char for SSBB. yeah his game is a beatemup. but how do you want to put the buttons on. its in anycase not really the same then and to silly -.- and about rayman. yeah he would have many attacks. but not as much as he really need or? and bomberman and megaman x are impossible. bomberman have really not much attacks. only throw bombs and bigger bombs and kick bombs and put the bombs down. but more is not possible

and megaman x isnt really possible cause his only one game on Nintendo was MMXCC.

and I must say. in case Snake is really a nintendo char. cause his first game was on Snes xD
