Runescape on consoles? Andrew Gower says it's "tempting" |

With the arrival of the next generation of video game consoles, Runescape developer Jagex has expressed a desire to bring the popular Java-based MMORPG to home consoles.
In an interview with video game news website CVG, Runescape creator Andrew Gower said that a console version of the game has been something that they have been considering, and the advent of the more internet-connected consoles has made the idea more tempting. Gower also noted that they could probably get Runescape running on the PS3 right now, and porting the game to other platforms, technically speaking, "isn't a huge amount of work."
However, Gower also revealed that Jagex is still slightly reluctant to bring Runescape to consoles. According to Gower, the more platforms the game is available for, the more Jagex has to update in parallel. "That would slow us down," said Gower. "We're loath to lose the rapid response ... that we've got at the moment, and the more platforms we go to the more than happens, so it's a bit of a trade off."

This game is THE worst piece of sh*t u can ever play in your life, all you do is click on a monster and watch the horrible animation do 1-10 damage, and the "leveling" system is complicated and unneeded, you have to level individual stats by "training" them, COME ON how do you train health? my friends and classmates wasted they're lives on this piece of sh*t and even THEY say they regret it.

I've never played Runescape, but I've seen my Brother play it. Runescape is not about the animation of battles, it's mostly about intelligent trading and social interaction. While it's true that the quality of the game is bad, and that many trolls play it, what did you expect from a free web game. Can you do better? Runescape is a good game, whether you like it or not. Why else would thousands of people play it? Also, you sure know how to spell for someone that is not a "RETARD".
dude if we get runescape on ps3 it would be kick ass because i cant sanding in frong of my pc montor when i can play on my hdtv screen why not.... by the way Gower if u would like to do this why not have a ps3 and a wii server u no like speacel servers only ps3 and wii can get in if u do this for me i will jump right on to ur sight again it will be awesome i stop plaything this game because i cant stand in front of a pc to long gets to boring ps3 way to go ill pay 5 bucks a mouth to play this again u dont have to pay kids

Wow, seems the only person that hates runescape worse than demonpie does is me. that game really does have the muddiest, most dark, depressing visuals ever, i wouldnt care if the gameplay rocked the solar system.

I doubt that Jagex will get to making it compatable with anything other than computer, as they said it would be too much work to update them all if they did. And for all of you people who are complaining how bad Runescape is, you once played, maybe you played for 4 years then realized many hours you could have spent with friends or boy/girl friends when instead you played Runescape. You only put down Runescape because you didn't know when to stop playing the game and go outside and now are blaming the game for that. ITS YOUR FAULT!

Yeah but it's a browser based Java game so the graphics are always gonna be *****. A console game would probably suck. I used to play Runescape so I might be tempted to rent the game, but only really to see how the graphics and gameplay were transferred
